Um mig og vefsvæðið.

Ég heiti Kári Össurarson, og er fæddur og uppalinn á Vestfjörðum, nánar tiltekið á Láganúpi í Kollsvík í Rauðasandshreppi, sem nú er runninn saman við nágrannahreppa í Vesturbyggð. Ég hef alltaf haft óbilandi áhuga á hvers konar tækni, einkum rafmagni og tölvum.

Ég vinn hjá Tölvuvinnslunni slf. á Patreksfirði við að þjónusta m.a. tölvur og jaðartæki, síma- og netbúnað o.fl.

Í gegnum tíðina hef ég föndrað við hitt og annað tengt rafmagni og bílum og leikið mér að forritun. Aðaltilgangur þessarar vefsíðu er að koma slíkum tilraunum á framfæri, í von um að þær verði einhverjum til gagns.

Athugið að textinn á þessum köflum er yfirleitt eingöngu á ensku. Ástæðan er einföld: Ég er of latur til að skrifa hann tvisvar, og þar sem langflestir Íslendingar bjarga sér ágætlega á ensku, en aðeins örfáir af milljónum enskumælandi manna skilja íslensku, taldi ég sjálfgefið að velja enskuna.

About this webiste and me.

My name is Kári Össurarson, and I was born and raised in Vestfirðir (West Fjords) of Iceland, to be exact, on the farm Láginúpur in Kollsvík, in the westernmost part of the fjords. I have always had an incurable interest in all kinds of technology, particularly electricity and computers.

I work for Tölvuvinnslan slf. on Patreksfjörður, servicing computers, peripherals, telecom and networking equipment and more.

Over the course of time I have fiddled with various electronics, car and programming projects. The main purpose of this website is to provide a venue for said projects, in the hope that they will be some use to somebody else.

Note that the text of these projects is generally in English only: The reason is simple: I am to lazy to write them twice, and as most Icelanders can get by with English, but only a few of the English speaking millions understand Icelandic, I considered English the logical choice.
